MLO Reflective Narrative
For MLO 2, it defines the linguistic strategy. A course that helped me fulfill this MLO was Spanish 313: For this class, I had the opportunity to learn about diphthongs. At first, I thought it would not be a helpful class for me, but with time I noticed that each class is very interesting and important because it prepares us with great information that I have never heard about. And, which is motivating and preparing me to be a teacher. For this class we mostly focused on exams. Through our class sessions and assessments we were able to understand the study of structure of words and sentences. We also learned how Spanish varies in the correct way of pronouncing different words by region and country. We were also able to understand the sound system in Spanish, identify different varieties in Spanish, and as well analyze linguistic attitudes toward stigmatized varieties of English and Spanish. For this class of linguistics, I was able to learn the basics of language development and how there are factors that influence which language is spoken.
