MLO 4 Language Proficiency
MLO Reflective Narrative
MLO 4 I understand as a secondary language class. Moreover, Hispanic Cultures. For next semester, I will be taking Japanese class. I am excited to find out the activities we would have to do for this class. At first, when my counselor told me I was required to take a Japanese class, I was scared because I was wondering how I was going to communicate with my professor and classmates. Until then, the counselor clarified and let me know that the course I would take would be taught in English and that I would do okay in that class. However, I still feel anxious to know what the class activities are. Initially I wondered why a class outside my area of specialization would be helpful, but after time, I realized that actually learning about other languages and cultures could be very helpful when applying for a job. It is important to value other languages other than Spanish and English. Because not everybody has the opportunity to know English or Spanish or any other language that could help others in the future. I believe this MLO is a good first step in beginning to understand different cultures and languages.
