Course Reflective Narrative:
Last semester, I had the opportunity to take a class that was very useful for me, Spanish 301. In this class, I was able to learn the correct way to pronounce and write words. In addition, it helped me feel comfortable when making presentations since it consisted of making presentations, some were alone and others in a group. From experience, I think presentations are something that could really help us feel more confident and start to lose fear. This class made me feel confident in myself because although I was expected to know how to speak Spanish and write it correctly, that was not necessarily the case. In this class, I have realized that Spanish is a bit more difficult than I thought. For the final group presentation, we talked about gender equality, which is an important issue since there are people who do not show their adulthood and behave like children by insulting people of different genders. We even had the opportunity to learn about gender in the Muxe society in Oaxaca, which helped me learn about the approximately 3,000 people in their culture who were born biologically male but adopted female roles.
