SPAN 495 - Special Topics
Course Narrative
In Spanish 495, I started formulating personal understanding and new perspectives of the Hispanic communities. At the beginning of this class, I began to learn what an oral narrative is. I also had the opportunity to learn that oral narratives are important for any culture since through them you can learn more about: legends, myths, stories, children's songs, beliefs and poems that are related to our culture. The purpose of this class was to help the culture alive, bring back the family reunions, and the myths our grandparents would tell us every night. In this class I focus on the book Senderos Fronterizos by Francisco Jimenes. In this essay I focus on giving examples of different cultures, and defining it with personal lifes from a person that we had to interview. We had to interview people that we didn't know and ask them questions that would relate to the book I have chosen. Sueños Por Cumplir.
